Manager Reservoir Engineering, 2024 to Current (UEP)

Review and update processes related to Reservoir engineering and Subsurface workflows. Prepared a full year schedule for integrated field reviews along with the team for monitoring the progress and tracking the action items. Prepared a template for P&A documents to fast track the processing of 100+ wells for P&A. Formulated a task force to fast track tight gas development in Miano after the approval of the new Tight Gas Policy in Pakistan.

Team Lead, 2019 to 2023 (UEP)

• Managed teams related to two mature assets with around 100+ oil and gas fields of different sizes and complexities.
• Successfully achieved all KPIs related to managing base production, development planning for key fields, reserves, and in-place addition, internal and external stakeholder management for development approvals.
• Improved the oil fraction in the total asset production by successful implementation of water injection schemes in new oil fields.
• Rejuvenated some old oilfields by targeting bypassed/leftover oil opportunities through detailed integrated field reviews and dynamic modeling.
• Successfully led tight gas development planning and reserves booking with a firm plan for 14 wells (consisting of horizontal wells with multistage fracs) in 1P & 2P categories and a further 79 wells contingent on the results of the initial 14 wells.

Staff Reservoir Engineer, 2014 to 2019

Designed and implemented Microsoft Excel-based templates for field depletion planning that are used in the organization. Managed small to medium-sized oil & gas fields with complex fluid distribution, commingled production from multi-layer reservoirs, late-life reservoir management with high gas-oil ratio/water cut problems, and limited data availability, with economics challenges due to lesser rates and reserves.

Senior Reservoir Engineer, 2012 to 2014

Provided on-site support, training, and consultancy services on client sites (mainly Aramco) for the Tempest software suite, i.e., reservoir fluid characterization with PVTx, pre and post-processing of simulation data with VIEW, black oil, and compositional simulation using MORE, assisted history matching and uncertainty analysis using ENABLE. Developed a macro-based spreadsheet for interfacing with Roxar Multiphase Flow Meters (MPFM) that was successfully employed on client sites in Abu Dhabi.

OMV - Pakistan

Senior Reservoir Engineer, 2011 to 2012

Conducted a tight gas development study in the Middle Indus Basin of Pakistan using sector modeling to model stimulated rock volumes for different well designs and configurations. Updated the dynamic model for a mature gas field with strong aquifer support in a highly compartmentalized setting, and a development well drilled based on it that helped maintain plateau production and further field development towards that area.

Worked on two of Pakistan’s biggest gas producing fields (Operated and Non-Operated). The main responsibilities included monitoring and updating well and field performance, making new well and reservoir models, calibrating the existing models.
